Quality Show Prospects  •  Quality Breeding  Stallions

• Mares For Sale

Crystal Creek Farm is owned by Carl and Kathryn Nichols of Winterville, GA.

Crystal Creek Farm is about the love of the Hackney pony.  We are located in the Southeastern part of the U. S. just outside of Athens, GA.   There are not many breeders in our area.   We strive to provide quality ponies not only in our region but for sale to other parts of the country as well.  Our goal is to provide ponies for everyone to enjoy.

World’s Grand Champion CH Dun-Haven Phenomenal is our main standing sire.  We also have breeding rights to CH Crystal Creek’s Commander.  Both of these stallions are by Dun-Haven Center of Attraction.  Our program concentrates on quality and motion.  Breeding is a long-term investment.   We feel that our selection of quality mares continues to improve our offspring each year.  We offer outside breeding to our stallions and we have young stock available for sale.

Some of our favorite places to visit:

Trainer Eduardo Lopez and Assistant Laurencio Lopez

Eduardo Lopez came to work at Crystal Creek Farm, LLC in July, 2005.  He had previous work experience with several well-known horse farms such as Kalarama, Redd Crabtree Stables and Mike and Kathy Barlow Stables.  He was married to horsewoman Bib Jones when he began his association with Crystal Creek Farm.  Bib died of cancer in 2006.  Since then, he has remarried and has two children and he lives in Winterville, GA.  He is a dedicated, hard-working young trainer and does a wonderful job of breaking and starting young ponies for their entrance to the show ring.  He attained his US Citizenship status in September of 2010.

His brother, Laurencio Lopez, assists him with the training duties at Crystal Creek Farm.  Mario Velazquez handles the weanlings and takes care of the maintenance at the farm.  Together they make an outstanding team.
